There is nothing more frightening for a defender than sheer pace and in Berlin right now there is a speedy predator reaching the height of his powers.
Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker is one of the fastest players that has ever graced the Bundesliga, he has clocked speeds of 22.7 mph/36.5 kmph.
The high-flying Berlin side is often underestimated leading to Becker’s abilities being underappreciated but as the numbers show there is simply no denying the speedster is enjoying a fine season.
To date, the 27-year-old has helped himself to seven goals and laid on three assists from 15 Bundesliga matches.

Becker amongst some illustrious names for Bundesliga goal involvements
Becker has been an integral part of Union Berlin’s meteoric rise to 5th place in the Bundesliga table before the winter break, for those waiting for Union's bubble to burst they may have to wait a bit longer while Becker is in the form of his life.
Union have scored 24 goals so far this season meaning Becker has been involved in 41% of Urs Fischer’s side’s goals to date.
At the right prime age of 27-years-old the speed merchant seems to be coming into his prime his pace allows him to circumvent even the best laid defensive plans.
The attacker’s life in Berlin was primarily as a wing forward but since been given license to operate more centrally, the goals have started to flow whilst his natural passing ability has been retained.

Becker is enjoying his most fruitful season in front of goal
Becker has shown more maturity and personality this season his capacity to bring joy to the Union Berlin faithful and teammates has been one of the many highlights of Union's season.
Becker is from a vintage harvest of genius; in the first half of the season, he has finished with aplomb helping Union disrupt the established order.
The product of the famous Ajax academy is now endowed with nonchalance when he enters the opposition area.
Ajax and the Dutch international side did not give Becker the time to display his prowess, it is the Bundesliga that has forged this player into the fearsome power he is today.
His international allegiance is now with Suriname but with the transfer window now open, one begins to wonder where his future might be.
The Union story is one of magical wonder, their supporters' passion is unrivalled, when the stadium was collapsing from structural issues, they rebuilt it, when the club needed money, they donated their own blood to raise funds.
In Germany, blood donations are rewarded with a monetary payment, the campaign was literally called 'Bleed for Union'.
In recent weeks player recruitment junkies Nottingham Forrest have been linked with the player, he won't come cheap and no matter where his future lies, it will be bright.
